Subject: Shaker mike

I've got a Shaker that I'm pretty happy with (though it's the only mike I've
owned, and I'd been playing through a *heavy* vocal mike. It's smaller and
lighter than the bullets I looked at, and sounds fine with the borrowed Fender
Tremolux I've been playing with.

I wish I understood sound science & tech, so I could be of more help. I mainly
like the convenience of this thing--it's light and it has its own volume
control. You can actually get your hands around it for a fuller sound than I
could ever get with a big vocal mike.

Does anybody know of a book called Amplified Harmonica Playing Made Possible by
(I think) Kevin Hagerty? Kevin of Kevin's Harps recommended to me, and it's
been pretty helpful, especially for someone who doesn't know anybody with amps,
mikes, etc. I can fool around with. I was playing country blues with a couple
of guitar players, and the only time we had amplification was when we went to
an open mike folk music night somewhere ... you have to learn a lot during your
fifteen minutes of fame.

Anybody else own and/or like the Shaker?
