When I over torqued the 5 draw i damaged the draw reed. Also, my
i instructor once mentioned that he has played Lee Oskars for years and
has never had a blow reed go. He even commented that it would be more
fair if they sold the draw and blow plates separately. You wouldn't
need to buy the blow ones! So while the blow reed is vibrating it
seems like getting the draw reed to close must be a bit stressful
during a bend.
