Subject: Chris Smith

Harvey inquired about Chris Smith the other day.

Chris "Hammer" Smith is an LA session player, and plays a lot of
Stevie-style chromatic in addition to diatonic. He appeared on a
Dolly Parton-Smokey Robinson radio tune a few years back, on some
recent Rickie Lee Jones records, and on some things by wimp-jazz
drummer Akira Tana. He also has his own album out, called simply
"Chris Smith," (Agenda 4704-2-Z) which is full of dance tracks
that get a little unrelenting after you hear a few. His playing
on that record is solid and consistent, but never sparks (at
least for me).

The "Shape of Thing to Come" track is not on this record, so it
must be something new. I'll have to look for it.
