Subject: Blues drummers

Just a thought: Butt, it occurs to me more and more (the more I
watch and play) that the forgotten element in the blues is the
drummer. I'm not a drummer but as a guitarist/harp player I really
think that having a great blues drummer (not rock drummer) makes or
breaks any blues band.

I'm a BIG FAN of great blues drumming and I wish people would pay
more attention to the rhythm section and less to the leads.
Underneath it all is this great pulse that propels every damn thing
... I think if you have a great blues drummer he can make a
mediocre band happen, but not visa versa.

Any thoughts?
