Hi all
The bottom bends on the lo tuneds harps is much like those on the
SBS in C or D. I had given uo trying to bend them till I had a student who
could do that thing, so I set about learning how. It is a 'deep throat'
kind of thing. When it first starts to happen it sounds a bit wooly (or it
did for me) but it soon clears up with work.
The bend for hole 1 on a low D is found at the back of the throat/ tongue
round about the epiglotis and the hole you make at the lower back of the
throat is small due to your pushing the heal of your tongue up and back. It
feels a bit like you are choaking at first but it becomes easier but I have
tried it, cand do it and live to tell the tale -David
