Dear Harp-L,
The ongoing discussion concerning race has come very close to triggering a knee jerk from owner-harp-l.
Harp-L is hosted in Alabama. Less that an 100 miles from The Cross Roads. Just a few short hours drive from the steps of UA Tuscaloosa where Governor George Wallace swore that no colored student would tread while he was in office. Or from Selma, where Rosa Parks sat on the bus. Or Cullman, where the "whites only" signs only came down a generation ago.
There is NO mileage to be made from arguing about race in music. People, not colors, play music. Please get over it, and take this discussion off line to private email between those of you who wish to participate.
I'm not pointing fingers at any individuals. Nor am I saying that anyone has yet crossed "the line". I'm saying that IMHO if the discussion continues much longer, someone will step over that line. Then I WILL start pointing fingers, and probably kick some ass as well.
