Dear Harp-L,
PLEASE do not re-post mail to harp-l which bounces back to you from a "dead" or "suspended" account. I know bounce headers are confusing, but if you read them, you'll see that in almost all cases, it's just a single address out of all of harp-l that has bounced.
These error messages should come back to a special account here at garply (harp-l-bounce) and get dealt with by owner-harp-l. But some mailers (like portal.com) are brain damaged and ignore the Errors-To header.
A bounce from a single account does NOT mean that your message wasn't delivered. It just means that one copy of it went astray. Remember that your mail comes to garply.com, then gets resent to to everyone on harp-l. If it gets as far as bouncing from someones account, then it has been delivered to the rest of the list. You just may not see it for a few hours 'cos I've had to slow the list delivery down to conserve memory.
The only bounces that mean your message wasn't delivered are ones that come from garply.com. And in those cases you should mail owner-harp~arply.com and ask what the deal is rather than immediately reposting. There is probably a very good reason why your mail bounced, and sending it again probably won't cure it.
