Subject: 3 Draw on MS Bluesharp

Hey folks,

De-lurking from Oz, I've noticed that there seem to be lots of problems with
the (new?) Hohner MS harps. Is this truth or a perception?

Anyway, I have had three Hohner MS Blues Harps. The C harp went flat on 5
draw, so that 5 draw was lower/flatter than 5 blow. This arose from
following a Don Baker video where he swears that 5 draw can be bent to the
pitch of five blow - is this so? I eventually got it to go, and it never
recovered. Can't be repaired in Oz.

Here's my other problem, and if someone has a thought I'd be pleased. The 3
draw on my G harp requires *significant sucking* before I get a sound. All
the other holes respond to the candle-blow approach, but no way on 3d. Is
this usual? It is also (according to my chromatic tuner) flat of F#, is this
usual also or is it indicative of bad technique? The other draws are not
flat, and I get bends OK, even on 3d.

Finally my A harp seems OK, but is relatively new, and the bends aren't
coming as easily, in fact 4 not at all. Usual?

Any reviews of Jon Gindick or Doctor Midnight stuff appreciated (private
e-mail?)
Thanks, guys
