As the grammies are due tonight, I have a suggestion. Shall we do our own harp-grammies? (or to coin a term, "harp jammies"? For the purposes of this list, anyone on harp-L may suggest who they nominate for best harp player of '95. I would like to propose some guidelines so as not to overwhelm the harp-L list with too much discussion. First, keep the nomination short, like 2 or 3 sentences. Also, for efficiency, there is only one category---best harp player. The only qualification is that the artist either performed live or released a recording in '95. It could be a re-issued CD by an artist from the past (check the copyright release date if you're not sure), a new artist, a live performance, ... heck, it could even be your own performance. As long as they play harp and it occurred in '95, that's the only criteria. Altho you can repeat someone else's nomination, it does not matter who gets the most nominations. I don't see the point in tabulating the number of votes. Whoever gets one nomination is just as worthy as someone who gets a hundred nominations. Tabulate them if you like. The point is to share what we think was YOUR most memorable harp experience of '95. The result is that we might get some helpful hints on who to see and what to buy from other people's perspectives on 1995. I begin the nominations with Kim Wilson for the CD "Roll of the Dice." His '95 CD has more harp than the previous T-Bird albums, and it accompanies his dynamite, powerhouse '95 tour. Kim Wilson, "Roll of the Dice" is my nomination for the harp-l '95 best harp jammies. ***************************************************************************** Timothy P.
