Subject: Re:Clarke's Harp Choices

Hey William Clarke Fans,
I'm getting better at calculating the harp and position choices of the
pros when I listen to their recorded music. W. Clarke's can be a bit of a
callenge however. I understand he uses 270 Chros in a variety of keys.
Sometimes when he's playing in 3rd position, it's hard to tell for sure if
he's playing a chro or a regular ole diatonic. (He dosen't make much
obvious use of the slide when he plays chro and for all I know he can bend
them farther than I can bend a diatonic). I'm hopin' some of you can give
me a hand.

On the Serious Intentions CD, I'm wondering about cuts 4,and 9. I'm
guessing on"Going down the highway"he's playing a Bb diatonic, and on "It's
been a long time" he's playing a Chro in F.

On "Groove Time" I'm wondering about cuts 3, 6, 10 and 14. I'm
guessing on "Complainer's boogie" he's using a Chro in F, on "A good girl
is hard to find" he's using a chro in Bb, on "Blowin' the family jewels"
he's using a Chro in G, and on "Bedroom Boogie" he's using a Chro in F.

Any confirmation of the above would be greatly appreciated. I'm
loving third position chromatic playing lately. I may wanna pick up
another 270 soon. Thanks in advance.

Rod
