Subject: ADMINISTRIVIA - HarpAid status

Well, a *HUGE* thankyou to everyone who has contributed so far. The total
contributions received is currently $185, with a further (approx.) $100
pledged but not yet received.

A funny (to me) story. If you recall, in my first plea I said something
to the effect that I've been married nearly three years and still don't
have a working fridge, and that if my wife found out I'd spent $870 on a
bunch of harp players ... she'd kill me.

As I've been on the road most of the last two weeks, I asked my wife to
open any mail that looked like it contained checks, so she could keep me
informed of the amounts / people contributing. Of course, I should have
thought about that a bit more because the second envelope she opened was
accompanied by a hard copy of my first begging message (you know who you
are!!!). Of course, I'd told her that y'all were just raising money for
future expansion ...

All is resolved on my domestic front now, and in fact she thought it was
funny as hell. But it was touch and go for a little while ... "Honey
bunch, what's this about you spending nearly $900 on computer bullshit
for harmonica players?".

Anyways. She's agreed to let me spend whatever harp-l raises on more
stuff to benefit the list (more disk space is the main requirement), as I
finally had a good enough two weeks gig pay to buy a fridge!

So. Keep the donations rolling (I'm gonna keep hassling till harp-l has
raised half of the target), and when there's enough come in, I'll stick
another disk on argon (the harp-l machine) and we'll be set for the
"foreseeable" future.

Once again, thankyou to all who have contributed, and if you've lost the
details ...

If you don't have a US bank ... I dunno what to suggest, as all that
international money transfer stuff is way beyond my ken.

P.S. If you do send anything, *please* don't hardcopy this message!
