Hello All -
Just asking for some input regarding the Artist Itineraries from the membership at large.
I have received many favorable and complimentary notes via private email regarding the Itins, as well as notes published on the Harp-L, (all very much appreciated), but I am not fishing for more compliments.
I would however like to know what the general feeling is with regard to frequency of posts. I have tried to post at least once a week, preferably prior to the weekends, when many of the showtimes are pertinent. However, I have noticed that when the posts are made, it seems to jog the memory of many of the players, and immediately after the post, I receive a flurry of updates. Of course they are ALWAYS welcome at any time, and as often as possible. But the updates often include dates for the immediate weekend, or within the next few days. The beauty of Harp-L and the Internet in general is the speed and immediacy of being able to notify the population around the world of any updates or changes. So at times, I feel the urgency of letting everyone know of those changes, and will often post the updates twice a week. I have been known to post even more frequently.
It is then that I become concerned that I may be using too much bandwidth, or that some may not feel that it is necessary to post more frequently than once a week. Especially now that the list is gaining more names and dates, since I posted that I would like to include more names from around the world, and include chromatic artists and harmonica trios/groups.
I would like your input on this subject, and would especially like to hear from Hugh regarding same.
On a related subject - if anyone attends a show by artists who do NOT appear in the lists, and you think they should be included, please talk with them if possible, and explain what we are doing, and suggest they (or their agent) submit their itins to me either at my email address, or by fax to 818-585-8554 (24 hr dedicated).
