Subject: Bent notes tone

I'm trying to learn to play bent notes on my Hohner Special 20 C harp and
a Huang Silvertone Deluxe D harp. I can get the pitches mostly, but the
tone is quite different than the unbent notes on 2 & 3 draw notes. It
doesn't sound very good at all. Should the tone be very different? It
sounds nasal or raspy compared to the fuller unbent notes.
