Subject: Re: Rory McLeod

Peter asks,

Has anyone ever heard about a harp player called Rory McLeod? One of my
co-workers saw me perform last evening and recommended him to me. Just
looking for more info.

All I know about him is that he is one of the three harp players in
the group Have Mercy. He and the other two guys (Steve Baker; author of
The Harp Handbook, inventor of the 14 hole SBS harp, and Henry Heggen) are
all fine harp players. Together they are something else.

I only know of one CD, entitled simply "Have Mercy". It's put out by
CrossCut Records (a German Company). I think I ordered it through Tower
Records. Pick this CD up if you ever wanted to hear the sound of more than
one harp player playing at once and doing it right. These guys put out a
great sound of layered rhythm on the bottom while they trade leads on top.
You'll also hear a couple tunes encorporating "country tuned" harmonicas
and SBS harmonicas.
