all will forgive me if I am bringing up a whorn out topic. I am looking for a harp amp, and was wondering what you all would suggest. I have been using just a plain old microphone, and an amp, but that just wasn't cutting it. A guy at the music store said the reason why I was blowing out so many harps was because I was wailing to hard and I didn't have a good enough Harp amp. I'm looking to spend somewhere in the 250.00 price range... is there any hope that I can find a decent one at that price?>
Hi! Try to find a Fender Champ 12 and try it out. It's a small, fully tubed amp, about 30 watts and 12" speaker. I've used one for both practise and occasional gigs (miked through a PA system) for a couple of years now, and it gives a nice sound for the money, even if it lacks a lot of bottom. I believe a used one in good condition will be around 200-250 bucks in the US. It's a reliable beginners amp which even may follow you pretty far on the way towards greater hights. I use an Astatic JT 30 VC mic, but try as many models out as possible. Mattias
