I think thats the case with any instrument, including the human
voice.

But if you're willing to pay that much, why not approach Filisko or
Richard Sleigh, tell them your specs and have that set of harps? at
$160 a pop, you could certainly have a set of brass combed Filiskos
for $1920, plus whatever specialized tunings you might want (high G,
low F, etc.). Maybe they'd give you a discount on a complete set,
which would leave you the $$$ to have Douglas Tate or Dick Gardner
make a truly superb chromatic as well.
