Subject: Simultaneous melodies

Joe Terrasi wrote about being blown away by Levy (same here) and his playing
of two counter melodies. On diatonic it takes a little bit of work, on a
chromatic it is a standard part of the technique. There are quite a few of
the standard pieces written for harmonica which use this technique almost as
a throwaway.

Mind you, the first time I tried doing melody on right and counter on the
left I found I had an elephant loose in my mouth and a gallon of spit down
my chest. It is one of those things which, when you can do it, you wonder
why everyone else can't.

There is a very simple way of starting to play two melodies at once.

The BIG trick would be to blow on one side of the mouth and draw on other.

Next big trick would be to do THREE independant melodies! (Red Indians
would say ...' Harp player play with forked tongue'
