That's what I meant by rotten apple vs golden orange. In the USA,
"apples and oranges" means "you are not comparing the same thing" (alias
"you can't equate").

But I was also thinking materials, labor, assembly, finishing, shipping,
etc. A baby grand is replete with high quality woods, mirror gloss
finishing to make a Mercedes blush, zillions of parts fit to relatively
exacting tolerances. In terms of production costs, there's no
comparison! How in the heck do they build one in Korea and ship it! to
the US and sell it for that price? Slave labor and high volume, I
guess...

The pain of low quality far outlasts the remorse at a high price.

The joy of outstanding quality far outlives the pleasure of a good deal.
