Danny Wilson (not of this world) WRITES

>(Tate) Even the finest 1.5 million pound violin has its faults to the top
professionals!

(Wilson) Douglas - if I've told you once, I've told you a million times - don't
exaggerate! My violin weighs 2 pounds, 10 ounces, and it's a solid
plexi-glass body electric - a very fine hand-crafted instrument. And it
cost me less than $1000!

The violins I was talking about were made by Guanarius, Stradavarius and
Amati, the finest violin technicians in the world.

Renaissance will be made by Bobbie Giordano and Douglas Tate..... need I say
more?? 8>]

Come on Danny, get real! :-))

I wonder how many of the worlds top professionals would want to play the
Beethoven concerto on you plexiglass instrument, it is not comparing like
with like. Tooled up and computerised and with expertly trained technicians
and etcs I expect we could bring the price down a tad. BUT that is not what
this is about, we are trying to craft quality.. in order to achieve the
sound through the particular design concept we chose, there is some very
complex machining to be done .. it costs, and that is before the 'hand
crafted' bit comes to the fore. As your fiddle is made of plexiglass you
could always make a dozen harp bodies out of it!!

BTW, some 'hand crafted 'instruments, it just means that the strings were
put on and bridge and nut adjusted by hand!!

Love to hear from you Danny, you keep us on our toes!!!
