Berndt, The Crystal Balls are put together here in Denver, by Jeff ("JD") Dorn. I still play thru a rebuilt Astatic Jeff sold me in 1986. Its a flat out powerhouse of a microphone. In those days, he was mounting the volume post on the end of the mike, an arrangement I still prefer... Since then I've tried many of his creations thru the years...all excellent, and easily as good as anything out there. He's developed some innovative component and wiring arrangements. I keep the original one I got from him, because it sounds better than anything else I've ever had. But that's also partly a sentimental consideration. After all, it is my "first baby". Jeff
