I agree fully with both these points. Along with manners, common sense is a
very useful thing. I guess the problem is, that in legal circles, things
need to be a sharply defined "either/or", whereas in real life, things are
rarely that simple.

As a regular reader of (and contributor) to Harmonica World, I'd just like
to say for the record, that I don't recall ever seeing a piece of
information published without the appropriate credits (except a CD review
that I did - it was accidentally published without my initials after it, but
this was apologised for in the next issue). As Harmonica World is the
journal of the NHL (a non-profit group), then commercial concerns are few.

For the record, I don't know what the legal position is regarding harp-l (as
this is an international resource, I guess it will be covered by many and
varied (and maybe contradictory) laws depedning on the country in which you
read it; but as far as I am concerned, anything I say here I consider to
have been said in public and I can be quoted by anyone in any non-profit
form providing what I say is not distorted (beyond "normal" editing) and I
am given credit for saying it.

...and if you publish it and make a million, cut me in on the deal!
