I take my Big River harp fishing with me to call the fishies in close. If your point is use what works, sounds good to me. OTOH, I have been out on days when I couldn't buy a nibble.
When fishing or harping, it is important to learn how to use the baits you own before adding to the tacklebox. The temptation is to buy lots of stuff and hope one of the lures will make you a better fisherman. Fact is, it is the presentation of the bait which, in most cases, dictates your success. Presentation skill take time and repetitions to perfect.
On the other- other hand, If your topwater bait doesn't float, you have a problem. If your plastic worms are hard and don't wriggle, get some new ones.
Have I extended this metaphor too far??
