Yes. Multiply 1.2Mb by 750 or so, and you can imagine why I don't want
that going through my mail server or my Internet connection. That'd be
around a gigabyte!

Then there's all those people on harp-l not in the US who have to pay for
every minute of telco and online time, connecting over 14.4 modems (about
7 or 8 minutes to down load a meg sound file).

Then there's the majority of harp-l who couldn't play the files even if
they did download them!!

Much better to stick them on a web/ftp site, where only the folk who
really want 'em have to download them.

I also want a permanent library of sounds, not just once of handing out of
same.

Not that I know of. Kind of like trying to reverse engineer a bitmap
image into (say) a vectored graphics file.
