Bobbie G writing about Gary Primich says:>>> ######################### Besides the #270 that he uses for chromatic stuff [cupping his hands around the mic and using his thumb on the button! Gasp! Sorry, Doug...you purist!!] he uses Filisko-Mutants #########################
Unless the man himself is a mutant I can't think of any other way he COULD use the button but with his thumb if he is cupping the mic' What ~ is ~ good, is to see, or rather hear, an eminent diatonic player inhabiting the chromatic 'world' with ease to extend the range of his musical message. It would be nice to see more chromatic players doing the same 'in the opposite direction.
This divide between Diatonic and Chromatic still has a psychological barrier for some people...don't see it myself. Is it the fact that one has valves and 'tother hasn't??? If it is then it is a silly barrier, different characteristics for different aspects of playing (Brass players have a similar sort of divide. Is it the business of the button (sorry not to rise to that bait BG, I'm only a purist when it comes to money!!) if so then that is even sillier. The button gives you ~extra~ facilities which nobody is forcing you to use but are there when you find you need them. OK, so the majority of chromatic harps make a sieve seem positively airtight, but there are harmonicas that have slide movements whose air tightness is legendry .... give it time..)
Brings me neatly to Renaissance and BG again >>>> ################# Now I can't decide what I'd rather get next?!!?!?.....MB 364? 365? SBS?
Maybe a Renaissance??? ################# Fear not BG, you will of course get the full 10% family discount
