One of the groups at the MasterClass was Joe Mass and the Generation
Gap. The Generation Gap are Joe's sons, JR on Bass Harp, and Joe Jr on
the 2 foot long chord harp. Both the sons played with Jerry Murad and
the Harmonicats. Joe (Sr) said he knew Jerry for 3 months shy of 50
year, and they did a tribute number to him.

Anyway, one of the stories Joe told was about how he got his kids
interested in playing.

He had a box of harmonicas.

And a sign on the box.

"Do Not Touch"

Of course the kids snuck around and learned to play behind his back.
One day they asked their dad if they could play with their dad. He tome
'em sure, but you'll need to practice first. They said well um er let's
just try it. And they had one song (forget which) *down*!
