Subject: no fun was had by all

Out tonight to a musician's party. Sometimes theyr'e fun sometimes
they're not so fun. I walk in 9ish and hear harmonica. I'm intrigued
but the guy's rotten. In out in out for rhythm playing wiling bent notes
for solos with no context whatsoever. Chromatic played in the key of F
no slide moves, ever. Out the whole time. Minor keys in pseudo 2nd and
in a tune in F he played in A and G the whole time. Oh did I mention he
drinks? If this was a guitar player someone would have shot him. Since
he was a harmonica player someone actually told him he was good. My guess
is that actually picking up the harmonica with the holes facing the
correct way is viewed as an intermediate skill and actual sound of any
type would be extremely advanced. I gave up playing since it was so hard
to play anything of merit with so many wrong notes confounding me at any
turn. That and the fact I was so embarassed to be a harmonica player too
I've given it up for kazoo where at least the standards are higher. Lay
out you must have me confused with a musician. Constant awful droning
noise. He's probably still playing right now. His name, no not Gus. It
was Louie. fjm
