I agree. I expect nothing good to come of jam sessions except maybe friends
and fun. It is frustrating to want to strut your stuff and find a lesser
player in charge of the harp mic, but that's jam sessions. You can't show up
at someone elses venue and expect to have anything go your own way. If you
want to be in charge you have to create your own venue or get lucky. I think
that for the overall musical spirit it's important not to be judgemental of
lesser players (though it's hard.) Jamming is fun, and its for everybody.
This is why karaoke bars are so popular. Jon
