Sitting here listening to the new Sam Lay album, Stone Blues on Evidence. I like it!
The album opens with a very nice version of 29 Miles and goes into a good cover of the Muddy tune Walkin' Thru The Park.
The rest of the album is very strong. Nuthin' fancy, no burnin' guitar solo's, just some damn good blues. Great harp work by Billy C. Farlowe!
IMHO, the weakest cut is the title track, Stone Blues (last cut. #11), which is a slow and lazy number.
Sam Lay - lead vocals, drums Fred James - guitar Billy C. Farlowe - harmonica Jay Spell - piano Bob Kommersmith - acoustic bass
