Hi Folks!
As of October 6, 1996 Harp-L is offically 4 years old. Happy Birthday to us!
Probably many of you do not know who I am, since I haven't been around much (after I graduated college and got a real job I lost all that extra free time I had been used to)...so for those of you who don't know, I'm Chris, I started Harp-L.
Anyway, when I started Harp-L 4 years ago I had just wanted to find a few other people with whom I could discuss harmonicas. But it has grown beyond my wildest expectations. It's a great thing that is only getting better.
Another reason I am writing this message is as sort of a goodbye message.
Due to my inability to properly administrate the list, I am "officially" passing the entire responsibility to Hugh. This is really just a formality, since Hugh has been taking care of business for the past year almost entirely by himself anyway. Hugh has been an incredible asset to the list, both administratively and harp-wise.
I would also like to thank all the members of the list. Like I have always said, if it weren't for you, the list wouldn't exist. I'd list everyone I'd like to thank personally, but it would take way to long and waste way too much bandwidth. I'll just say that because of you ALL, this has become on of the best music mailing lists in the world.
Although I will no longer be involved in list administration, I will always at least be a lurker. And if anyone plans to attend a harmonica event in the Louisville, KY area, please let me know...I always love to meet other Harp-L'ers and listen to harp.
