Before you loftily dismiss our debate as semantics unrelated to harmonicas,
please consider this practical question: Is it worthwhile to expend money
and time pursuing superior sound by using exotic materials? If it is yes, we
open up new areas for improving harps. If it is no, we save ourselves much
wasted time, money, and harp-l bandwidth.

What else can harp-l be but an exchange of words, ideas, and opinions?

I haven't seen anyone post a linear equation. The equations that relate to
the harmonica are decidedly non-linear. I suspect, however, that you do not
refer to the mathematical definition of linear equations. In the sense that
you mean "non-linear" (unpredictable?) it is the people of the world more
than the machines (such as harmonicas) that make it that way.
