1. No it wasn't impolite, it was downright rude, and I apologise for my
thoughtless over-reaction.

2. I think you're probably right there too - if a stick has two ends, how on
earth am I expected to grab the right end every time??

3. I didn't teach anybody out of "tone deafness" while at drama school - I
was merely in the same year/class/group as them throughout a three year
period on a daily basis - not scientific, perhaps, but a bit more than
anecdotal, IMHO.

Maybe I should pick up my email before 3 in the morning sometime.
