I've seen him five times in as many years and I still wasn't prepared for those shows! I've heard many harp players on recording and in person, and nothing compares to Piazza. I don't know how he does it, but when he gets that Super 64 working on "Harpthrob" or "Harpburn" look out! He sounds like ALL the horns in a Big Band outfit all at once. You have to see it to believe it.
I'm amazed at how many blues aficionados out there have never heard of Piazza. A few months ago I saw him at this club in a hotel. He performed two shows, the first one started out with the place about half full. After he started playing people from all over the hotel started to pile in. I talked to a few people who happened to be just walking down the street, heard this awesome music and saw people dancing then decided to come in. You must understand that the club is this ritzy kinda place located on the third floor of the hotel! It's really not the kinda place where stragglers come in off the street.
If your a harp player, no matter what style, and haven't seen this guy your crazy!
