And trying to answer the question by FORCING the same technique will yield
the wrong answer. The inherent leakiness of unmodified wooden bodied
harps and necessity for different techniques is indeed part of the
equation, and properly should not be ignored.

The human playing the harmonica is part of the equation - an IMHO
inseparable part if we want valid results in the long run. Trying to
bypass this essential factor is IMHO a serious mistake. When I play the
same harmonica that everyone else plays, it still sounds like me. While a
goodly pportion of this is note selection and rhythm, a lot of it is
technique and the WAY we each choose to play notes.
