Subject: Clarke really was blowin like hell!!!

I witnessed a wonderful performance by William Clarke last night. He
appeared at the slippery Noodle in Indianapolis.
Many of you will recall that the last time he gigged in Naptown, he became
ill, and had to be hospitalized.

I am very happy to report that he appears to be in great health, and he is
playing better than I have ever heard him!!!

He played with power, passion, and imagination throughout the evening. One
friend of mine (a harp blower), who had been disappointed about a year ago
when he heard Clarke for the first time, couldn't believe he was hearing the
same guy!

I've been blowin harp, and going to see live blues performers(especially
harmonica players) since the mid sixties, and Thursday night's Clarke
peformance will always be remembered by me as one of my favorites.

Aside from seeing a harp master who is at the tip of the top of his game, it
was also very satisfying to see a fellow musician battle back successfully
from some serious health problems!

Be sure to check Mr. Clarke out when he comes through your town! Allen
