Subject: Re: breathing

I believe I read somewhere that you are supposed to refrain from
breathing out your nose when playing. I have great difficulty
doing this. Are there any excercises that can help? I know
if I hold my nose closed with my fingers, I am able to do a
more controlled draw bend. I also notice that when playing
a lot of Sonny Terry which seems to have a lot of open,
draw chords on the low end, I seem to run out of breath.
I know that when I draw, I am also drawing extra air in my nose.

I'm an avid runner, so I don't think it is really a lung capacity
issue. The tip about blowing over the top on exhale is a good one
which I've been trying lately, I'm just wondering if there is anything
that can be done to control the nose breathing.
