Subject: re- Trivia & upside down harpers

Thanks a lot for that info. Till now I thought I was the only harp player in
the world holding the harp upside down... Altough I think I play pretty
well...

Sonny Terry Played harp upside down. I also beleive that Chamber Huang
does. Most likely a whole bunch of people do. Doesn't much matter it is just
how you learn. My only comment would be if you use a lot of cupping and wa
wa effects you may want to hold the harp in your right hand instead of the
left as most harp players do. This is so that the center of the cup formed
by your right hand is over the lower notes, which is on the right side when
the harp is upside down. The lower notes respond especially well to wa wa
type effects and sound better in the center of the cup. This is only my
opinion and it is most important to do what works best for you. I know a
great player, Mike Costello from Boston area that does the exact opposite he
holds the harp in is right hand, with the low notes on the left.
