Subject: Breathing

Hello, I am enrolled in a harp class that really stresses breathing in the
propre manner. As one student most eloquently put it one night, "I have been
looking for tone for thirty-five years and it finally came from here", and he
pointed to his chest!
One thing I've gleened from class that you could try to improve your
tone is to make your mouth cavity as wide as possible. In other words the
bigger the resonating cavity you have the more the sound will resonate. I
have a relatively small mouth (though my wife might disagree:-) and it did
improve my tone. See this is where attending an actual harp class would be so
much more helpful than any book or tape. Especially if the teacher is as good
as joe Filisko(shameless kissing-up:-)
Try that and Good Luck, John User3434~ol.com
