On the subject of a lack of BW chromatic recordings, I have one that wasn't mentioned.
It is on a CD called:
"American Folk Blues Festival '65 'Studio Session'"
produced by Optimism Inc.
It has two cuts with BW. One of them is a song called "Christine." It features BW playing some of the tastiest 3rd Position Chromatic that I've ever heard. It also has Buddy Guy on guitar and in my unprofessional view, it is an excellent recording both from a technical and artistic point of view, I've sure heard a lot worse. It is indeed quite a shame that there are so few BW chromatic recordings.
BW also does some nice vocals on the piece. And, he has another cut on the CD called "Slow Down," with J.B. Lenoir on Guitar and vocals. This is also in my opinion some excellent harp playing on a key of D, Diatonic. He doesn't play a lot of notes, but the ones he plays are just right. He also appears to use little if any electronic assistance with his tone which is excellent. As a result, he is also has some nice articulations that you normally only hear with more acoustic or non-Chicago style playing.
The CD is apparently an anthology of a number of artists who were at the festival, and gathered in to the studio for a recording.
