There is no conclusive evidence linking aluminum intake to the occurrence of Alzheimers. I reviewed the harp-l archives of this discussion, and the conclusions were correct: the amount of aluminum ingested from playing an aluminum alloy harmonica is likely to be negligable, certainly less than that obtained from cookware and vastly less than from aluminum-based antacids. However, if one finds corrosion and pitting of the aluminum on a harp, then some ingestion may be taking place. Avoiding acid-containing drinks and foods just prior to using an aluminum harp seems prudent.
