Sorry jjd, that I have to correct you a little. WRT Hohner e.g., brass rivets
had never been used in fixing the reeds to the plates. The rivets had been and
are made of steel. There are only little differences in the actual production.
The rivets at MS harps are now made of stainless steel and are clinched, whereas
the rivets of other harp reeds are made of "normal" steel and are pressed.
