Subject: Which Mic?-breakthrough

I've never been very happy with my crystal Shaker/Peavey classic 20 setup.
So recently I went to Radio Shack(the local overpriced electronic parts store)
and found an electret tie clip mic for $24 with 50% off (last years model i
think). So I paid my $12 bucks and sorted through connectors until it attached
to my 20' guitar cable.

Maybe I wasted $12 I thought, but some of my fellow Harp-lers said to try it.

I pulled out my C Blues Harp and tried a riff...
Nothing.
Oh yea, you have to turn these mics on...CLICK..

I tried again....
Was that Little Walter sound coming from MY AMP?!?!
was that thick full rich big sound coming from this tiny 1/4" x 1/4" mic?
It sure was.

I switched harps, popped in house of blues2, and cued up "Juke".
I was amazed...for the first time it sounded like I was playing the same song!

Further testing revealed an excellent hand wah-wah effect.Going from very
loud to very soft. And the whole time no feedback.

Although my Shaker produced a good clean tone with a crystal flavor, it was
never anywhere near this thick. (yes, even after I mastered the white knukled
death grip to seal it off)

It would now appear that I have two mics at the opposite ends of the blues
harp playing styles. But it does bring up some questions...

1) If this mic makes me happy, will a GB make me even happier.

2) will the music store freak out if I want to plug this in to one of their
effects petals.(Signal too hot?)

3) Will all you electret players out there cough up your secrets for gluing
this tiny mic to your hand.(I think Madcat mentioned something about
a ring once...)

Sorry to go on and on, but who but my fellow Harp-lers would understand.
