This is a bit off-topic, but since fever blisters are so much more
an issue for harp players than, say, guitarists, I want to add my
two cents (or so).

First, I heartily second the above recommendation for tea tree
oil. It works very well in helping one to quickly get over a
blister and get back to harp playing.

If it should so happen that you cannot find tea tree oil, but can
find a Chinese herb shop, get a $2.00 bottle of Superior Sore
Throat Spray (Shuang Liao Hou Feng San). It is a fine powder that,
when applied to the sore, cools the lip and stops the pain almost
instantly, and it is as effective as tea tree oil in resolving the
sore. It isn't pretty, being a brown powder, but it works and it's
inexpensive.

Norm.
