Subject: Better timing?

Do harp players have the worse sense of timing? Well at least I do.
Help me.
I've never played any other instrument, so that won't help me

I've seen a lot of books using the foot tap method, but my foot keeps
changing speed and generally gets confused. (a confused foot? ohh well)

What are comments concerning this by getting as metranome,a cheap keyboard
with drumbeat feature, or playing with background guitar shuffle.

Would i figure it out while stumbling through my 12 bar jam the cord changes
on the tape didn't line up with mine?

Also I've been working on the swing 8ths and it does make me sound better,
but what of other notes. If you go 8th 8th 1/4 1/2 , do you swing the 1/4 and
1/2 a little. How about 8th 8th 8th 8th 1/4 1/4, do you swing the 1/4s or
just the 8ths?

thanks in advance for input.....-NELSON-
