An unsolicited testimonial:
I just got hold of a CD by harmonica player Bruno Kowalczyk, called "C'est Pas Pire". Bruno is French, but his biggest influence is French-Canadian music. On this CD, he plays traditional French-Canadian tunes, as well as some of his own compositions, on major and minor 10-hole, tremelo and chromatic harps, accompanied mostly by guitar and fiddle, with some guest musicians playing banjo, bass, melodeon and chromatic harp (amongst othr instruments). Anyone with an interet in traditional harp styles should give this a listen (for the cross harp addicts out there, Bruno also plays a hot train tune in second position) and if you read French, you will be entertained by Bruno's "history" of the harmonica. It is available from Canadian suppliers Trente Sous Zero/30 Below Zero, who can be reached by email at:

30 Below also stock a range of fine folk music, featruing a variety of harp players, including Yves Lambert (one of Mark Graham's favorites - and no wonder!), who plays with a band called La Bottine Souriante.
