Subject: Re: WORKERS: Here come 'da FAQ

[First note - if there are any prospectivew FAQ "owners" out there who
don't have a web browser or access to one, you need to mail
harp-l-worke~arply.com and ask for our "web-challenged package".]

Note that the exact structure for Subject headers and keywords (FAQ, RFC,
RFA, etc) is still under discussion on harp-l-workers. If you care, come
join us.

The first step is to get some owners volunteering to maintain sections /
questions of the FAQ. An example of what I mean is that Danny Wilson,
[bassharp], just volunteered to own "2.1.4, What is a bass harmonica?".
I'm expecting Mike Curtis to step up and own "2.6, What is a valved
diatonic". Etc.

When we have a "critical mass", I'll create a harp-l-faq list, on which we
can have "meta-discussions" about FAQ mintenance issues without bothering
the whole list.

So. If you think you might want to "own" a section of the FAQ, go and
look at it:

http://www.garply.com/harp-l/home/print_faq_top.cgi

... and follow your nose. Or mail harp-l-worke~arply.com and ask for
the email only deal.

Note that the structure of the FAQ will be as dynamic as we want it. What
you see right now is just a "snapshot" of the "old" FAQ, to use as a
starting point. If you wish to create a new sub-section or "question", or
have a better suggestion for re-structuring the existing one ... come and
talk to harp-l-workers.

And I repeat - I'll be creating a harp-l-faq list, to get the
meta-discussion of this issue (i.e. about the mechanics of maintaining the
FAQ, not about the content thereof) in order to get the traffic off of
harp-l itself in the near future. All "owners" will be automagically
included on it, anyone else needs to ask harp-l-workers.

Happy FAQ-ing.

Oh, and a belated Happy FAQ-ing Thanksgiving, as well, to all our U.S.
readers! I'm still bloated, fat and happy 24 hours later, about to fix
turkey sandwiches for the kids ... :)
