Subject: SoCal Harp Contest

The SoCal Harp jam sounds like it was quite a show. I have seen several
of these characters appearing as headliners at clubs and in fact saw
Mark Hummell in Oakland at a lunch time free concert just below my
company's building.

Whenever I get the opportunity I like to talk to these guys after their
show. Mark hummell's personality goes with his tone, it is smooth, well
rounded, and easy to get along with. I am especially sorry to hear that
he was afflicted with Bell's Palsey recently. I have heard of this
malady but am not familiar with it. I hope it is not something that
could revisit him.

Being kind of new to the list, I haven't a clue as to what your "death
sound" might be. Any clues? By the way I must have been hiding in the
woodshed cuz I have never heard of this 12 year old. I will assume he
has a few recordings that can be obtained???? It is incredible when a
young person can have so much musical feel at such an early age. The
blues is pretty simple to "play" and so is the harp, but it takes a
lifetime to figure it out.
