If you are older then the Glover book then how come you don't look that old? Were you sober or something?
Every time I read one of your reviews they compliment your performance of a Harmonica Concerto by Villa-Lobos. I have a Tommy Reilly version of that on CD and think it lovely. But I only listen to it three or four times a year. You must have to listen to it every time you play it!
Why do you play that same piece over and over again? Perhaps because they pay you for it? But that doesn't explain why you do such a good job each time. Maybe you LOVE that piece. But you can't love that song more then I love my daughter, yet when my daughter starts telling me about some video game for 12th time just smile and zone it out. Are you ever just smiling and zoning?
This is a real problem with my own progress. Sometimes I will find a song that I can dedicate to doing really well. I will practice and practice until I get all the notes right at tempo and it feels like something. But by that point I am a little bored of the piece (think how my poor family feels). I have several of these kind of songs that I practice regularly just so I wont forget them but I never get as good as I know the songs can be because I simply don't want to hear them too much.
This is why I don't think I could ever be a professional musician, even if I had some talent, I don't tolerate repetition very well. I guess this fits with my inner nature since having an innate rhythm deficiency, I don't do repetition very well either.
