Subject: harp noise

I like Dylan, Young and Morrisette. Morrisette can't be criticized for her
harp playing because she doesn't really play the harp, she blows into it,
yet it still adds something to her songs.

The other night I saw the Lincoln center awards show on TV and a bunch of
old people (including the President and First Lady) were honoring Bob Dylan
(who looked older then everyone else). Bruce Springstien did a Dylan song
in tribute and did an awful job. He was probably sang well but he had a
harmonica on a rack and after every verse he would blow a single short cord
into the harp. He blew the exact same cord the exact same way each time.
He might as well have been hitting a gong or scratching his crotch to
indicate the end of each verse. Or he could have held up a card that said
"One More Time". The harmonica actually ruined the performance.

Yet everyone smiled and applauded and seemed quite pleased. I wonder if
they would have noticed if his turn around consisted of a single short
guitar cord strummed at the end of each verse?
