OK, I'll keep this short. And to the point. No waste of space here. You'll
see. Just keep scrolling and reading. It promises to be time well spent.
Don't give up yet. This will be a well edited post. Very concise. Honest. You
can count on it. No extraneous verbage. No casting of witty asides. No
secondary themes. Just the facts, mam.

I believe snips are good, as long as one takes care to not delete so much
that the quoted material is taken out of context.

Related subject: Paraphrasing quotable material and posting it as a quote.

While the motivation behind the practice is the saving of bandwidth and
reader's time, I don't really like it. It is very easy for the papraphrase to
incorrectly reflect the original post. Twice in the past week, I have felt
that paraphrases of my material were more reflective of the respondent's
interpretation than my thoughts. As a result, I, myself, have stopped the
practice in responding. This is especially important if the respondent is
presenting an opposing view.

Do I have an opinion on writing shorts? Only that you should launder them
occasionally.
