Subject: Showmanship

One of my many talents is frequent insomnia.

So last night I was staring blankly at the Dave Letterman show when this
guest who looked like an old version of Pete Townsend told a funny story
about Jimmy Hendrix.

For those of you old enough to know who Pete Townsend is but where on drugs
- -- Pete Townsend is one of the Who. He was famous for breaking his guitar,
breaking his amps, breaking hotel rooms and occasionally performing in rock
operas.

Turns out this guest was Pete Townsend. The thing that impressed Townsend
about Hendrix was that he not only could hold the guitar in his teeth,
behind his head, swing it wildly and all that; but that he actually took
the time to learn how to play it as well.

Well, it was funny last night. I'm sure there was some harp content in
there but I was pretty tired at the time. Actually, he made fun of all
musicians at one point, which includes some fine harp players.
